The same goes for "sweet." There's nothing wrong with being considerate, or well-mannered, or respectful, but constantly making obvious efforts to try to please a woman instead of just being yourself is the kiss of death to a relationship. Women prefer things in small bites, even such things as being considerate, because they get bored so easily. You'll frequently hear them describe a man who is being nice as "smothering her."
